Additional Needs
A SCHOOL THAT SUPPORTS LEARNING
In Lismore College we are committed to meeting the individual learning needs of all pupils and aim to create an environment where every pupil can succeed academically. We recognise the important relationship between high quality pastoral support and academic achievement. Our Learning Support Department comprising of the Learning Support Coordinator, Specialist Teacher for assessment of access arrangements and a team of highly committed classroom assistant staff, work in collaboration with our supportive parents/carers and the expert services provided by a variety of external agency staff such as Autism Advisory Intervention Services, Vision Sensory Support, Education Psychology, Behaviour Support Team, EA Transition Officer and EA Careers Service.
All pupils on the additional needs register have an Individual Education Plan put in place with reasonable adjustments made as appropriate to ensure that our pupils can overcome their barriers to learning.
Our pupils can also receive additional support from our Learning Mentor who provides emotional and academic support as appropriate.
